Creative Techniques
with Cecilia Jarvis
Course information
Being able to listen and respond to our clients is the bedrock of the therapeutic relationship. Sometimes this can be enriched by the use of creative techniques to further explore and illuminate a client’s hidden processes.
Drawing from psychosynthesis, this workshop will address how, if and when to introduce creative techniques with a client, including contra-indications to their use. We will explore how awareness of the body can enhance the experience and understanding of deeper processes; how to work with free drawing to enhance or contain feelings and how guided imagery can be used to evoke strengths and potentials, resilience and resources within the client.
This is an experiential workshop so participants will be expected to engage with the exercises personally and to practice using them with members of the group.
